This is the pattern that Frieda recommended for the capelet. Thanks Frieda!
"I modified the patterns. The first two seemed skimpy but may be okay for a thin person. I increased the neck size of the
third and it seems large but may be okay for a heavier person. I put buttons on them but was thinking a decorative
removeable pin might be better or even a cuffling or tie holder."

This suggestion for an alternate method was submitted by Sheri. Thanks Sheri!
"I saw the Capelet Pattern from Frieda and gave it a try. I did make a couple of changes that I thought I would share with
you and it worked out well.
I used a J hook and worsted weight yarn. I followed the pattern chaining 52 and then doing rows 1-6. For rows 7-14 (or to
the length you want) I chained 3 and turn do a double crochet in the next dc and in each dc across to last dc in top of
chain 3 and turn. I then did a single crochet evenly around the outer edge for 2 rows. On the second row upper edge I
chained 10 (or however many you need to accomodate the button) and then did a single crochet in the next sc for the
loop for the button. Sew a button on the opposite side of the loop. Weave in the ends.
This capelet fit as a medium. I would probably use a size K hook for a larger size and a size I hook for a smaller size.
I just thought that I would share this with you as worsted weight yarn is less expensive but is nice to use and holds up
well. The pattern went very quickly.
The person I used as a model for this said it was very comfortable and very warm"
